Who we are
We are the Law Office of Fernando Quiñones, an immigration law office at 2595 Mission Street, Suite 303, San Francisco, CA 94110. You can reach us at (415) 543-2201 or fqlawoffice@icloud.com.
What this policy covers
This policy covers this website and the case-tracking tools our office uses to serve our clients. One of those tools checks the status of our clients' filings with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) through the USCIS Case Status API.
What we collect
On this website we collect only what you send us by email or phone: your name, how to reach you, and your message. This site does not use cookies, analytics or tracking.
For our clients, we keep the information needed to represent them: names, contact details, immigration history, documents, and the receipt numbers USCIS assigns to their filings.
How we use it
We use client information to provide legal services, to check the status of filings, to meet deadlines, and to communicate with clients. We use website contact information only to answer you. We do not use your information for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share client information only with:
- the agencies and courts handling the client's case, such as USCIS, the Department of State, and the immigration courts;
- people the client asks us to share it with; and
- service providers that store or process data for our office under confidentiality obligations, such as Apple iCloud for file storage.
We do not share de-identified or aggregated data with anyone.
We do not sell your information
We have never sold personal information and we will not sell it.
Your choices
You decide what to send us. Clients can ask us at any time what information we hold about them and can ask us to correct it.
Deleting your information
You can ask us to delete your information by emailing fqlawoffice@icloud.com or calling (415) 543-2201.
We delete website contact information within 30 days of your request. Client files are subject to the record-keeping rules of the State Bar of California. We will tell you what we must keep and for how long, and we will delete the rest within 30 days.
How long we keep it
Website messages: up to one year. Client files: for the time required by California rules for attorney records, then deleted.
This website has no user accounts. If we add accounts in the future, an account not used for 24 months will be closed and its data deleted, and you will be able to close your account at any time by contacting us.
Security and breaches
We protect information with device encryption, passwords, and limited access. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you by email or phone as soon as we reasonably can, and within the time California law requires.
California residents (CCPA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right not to be treated differently for exercising these rights.
To exercise them, contact us at the email or phone number above. We will verify your identity before responding and will answer within 45 days.
If our office changes hands
If the practice is transferred to another attorney or firm, client files move with it under the rules of the State Bar of California. You will be notified and given the choice to take your file elsewhere.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that affects how we use your information, we will post the new version here with a new date. For clients, we will ask for your consent before applying the change to information we already hold.
